Glare is a distracting and sometimes dangerous excess of bright light, and can happen day or night. Glare can cause squinting, eye fatigue, and in extreme cases, even temporary blindness.
Did you know…
In daylight, glare can occur when walking indoors to outdoors, moving from shade to sunlight, even from reflected light off of surfaces like cars or sidewalks
At night, glare can occur from oncoming headlights while driving, or from bright reflections off of wet roads, even signs
Glare can impair visual comfort and visual quality, which can diminish healthy sight
Watch a short video about anti-reflection options:
Anti-reflective (AR) treatments are available for many lens products to help protect your eyes. AR treatments are proven to significantly reduce glare while increasing visual comfort.
Best of all? These types of lens treatments and materials, plus others like photochromics and polarized lenses, can often be bundled into one lens product for maximum versatility, as well as eye protection.
Laser eye surgery was something that I thought long and hard about. I have worn glasses and contact lenses for most of my life, they were part of my daily routine and I really could not have imagined life without them if it wasnt for Dr. Agarwal. She brought up the subject of laser eye surgery during one of my regular annual checkups, when we were talking about her own experience with the procedure. She mentioned that I might be a good candidate as my eyes had stopped changing and encouraged me to look into it. After spending a good amount of time researching various companies and procedures I chose to go with TLC because they have a good experienced surgeon on staff who was excellent and their office allows for post operation checkups right here in Pickering at Dr. Agarwal's clinic. This appealed to me because I did not have to drive very far in order to make sure that I was healing properly. Furthermore, the staff at Dr. Agarwal's clinic was friendly and made scheduling my appointments quite easy. Dr. Agarwal took the time to make sure that everything was healing properly and answered all of the questions that I had along the way. People often ask if I would recommend laser eye surgery. Given my positive experience I would do it again in a heartbeat. Dr. Agarwal, TLC and their staff are all knowledgeable and skilled individuals who will make you feel at ease about the whole procedure. The best part of it now, is that I do not have to worry about glasses or contacts. I wake up and I can see. I have found new enjoyment in everyday life. Now, being able to see while travelling or being outdoors is truly a gift!
