Dr. Lam finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto in Cell and Molecular Biology where he received his Honours Bachelor of Science. He obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo in 2017.
As part of his Doctor of Optometry degree, Dr. Lam has completed an internship at the highly regarded Eye Foundation of Utah in Salt Lake City. He was exposed to a wide range of ocular diseases, including cataract surgery, retinal detachments, macular degeneration and dry eyes with an emphasis on glaucoma management.
Dr. Lam is a firm believer that prevention is the best treatment and emphasizes his treatment of healthy eating, proper nutrition, and lifestyle changes. Due to the vast majority of people suffering from dry eye disease and nearsightedness in this digital age, Dr. Lam has committed himself to employ leading research and treatment in these areas. In addition to his work at Pickering Town Center Optometric Clinic, Dr. Lam works at LASIK MD where he is exposed to the latest refractive techniques and technologies in LASIK and cataract surgeries.
Dr. Lam provides eye care services to nursing homes in North Bay, Mattawa, Timmins, Mississauga, and Sault Ste, where medical resources are limited, to improve the elderly's quality of life by protecting their vision .Dr. Lam is always looking for opportunities to help the community. He has volunteered his time for the Opening Eyes organization and the Friends for Sight organization to provide eye care to individuals who are in need.
Dr. Lam is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario and the Ontario Association of Optometrists.
When he isn’t spending time with patients, Dr. Lam enjoys reading new books, traveling around the world, and practicing photography.
