Dr. Anthony Cheung received his Honours Bachelor of Science degree from University of Toronto with a double major in neuroscience and chemistry and a minor in biology. He then went on to study at the University of Waterloo where he received his Doctor of Optometry. Dr. Cheung completed his ocular diseases and therapeutics externship in Dallas, with the University of Texas Southwestern at Parkland Hospital. There, he worked with the Department of Ophthalmology in the management of diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma and dry eyes. He also gained valuable experience with low vision exams while treating patients with visual impairments.
Dr. Cheung is also a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario, Ontario Association of Optometrists and Canadian Association of Optometrists. He is passionate about patient education and believes the key to the best vision care is prevention.
Dr. Cheung is fluent in both English and Cantonese. In his spare time, he likes to play hockey, tackle DIY projects at home and play guitar. He also a cute little dog named Waffle and is also a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
