OHIP Coverage

Children (0-19 years old) and Seniors (65 years old and older) are covered for a full eye exam once every 12 months by OHIP.

Adults (20-64 years old) are not covered by OHIP. 

Medical Exceptions:  Adults with certain medical conditions such as diabetes, glaucoma, retinal disease, amblyopia, visual field defects, cataracts, strabismus or corneal disease may be covered by OHIP for a full eye exam every 12 months. 

Private Insurance: Patients may be covered by their own insurance plan.  For more information please contact your insurance provider.  We do not bill insurance companies directly.  We are pleased to provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Due to COVID-19, the College of Optometrists of Ontario has recommended Optometrists to provide urgent care only until further notice. Our office will be closed for routine eye exams and we will be offering urgent eye care by appointment ONLY. Please e-mail us at if you would like to book a future eye exam, need to order your contact lenses (shipped to you directly) or need to discuss an urgent eye care problem.

**Please note if you have travelled outside the country in the last 14 days and/or are experiencing any symptoms of cough/fever/ respiratory problems and/or have come into contact with anyone with COVID-19 please call public health and refrain from making an appoint.
